ISPM 15 compliant, Forestry Commission Certified Company-Arbroath

ISPM 15 was created by the Food and Agriculture Organisation to prevent and control the spread of insects, pests and diseases which affect plant products. If you export your products abroad within a wooden container, it must be ISPM 15 compliant. R.S. Joinery are certified by the Forestry Commission to comply with the Wood Packaging Material Marking Programme (UKWPMMP). We can manufacture bespoke wooden crates in a range of sizes and dimensions.

What Does ISPM 15 Compliant Mean?

International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM 15) is an international standard developed by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). Its objective is to stop the spread of disease, pests and insects that could infect plants or ecosystems.

ISPM 15 affects all wood packaging materials greater than 6mm thickness. The material must be debarked, and heat treated or fumigated with methyl bromide. See photo for our mark of compliance. This mark of compliance is colloquially known as the “wheat stamp”.
